17:2 He placed troops in all of Judah’s fortified cities and posted garrisons¹ throughout the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim that his father Asa had seized.

19:4 Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem.² He went out among the people from Beer Sheba to the hill country of Ephraim and encouraged them to follow³ the Lord God of their ancestors.⁴

Hezekiah Observes the Passover

30:1 Hezekiah sent messages throughout Israel and Judah; he even wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, summoning them to come to the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem⁵ and observe a Passover celebration for the Lord God of Israel.
