2 Chronicles 20:25

Context
20:25 Jehoshaphat and his men 1  went to gather the plunder; they found a huge amount of supplies, clothing 2  and valuable items. They carried away everything they could. 3  There was so much plunder, it took them three days to haul it off. 4

2 Chronicles 21:17

Context
21:17 They attacked Judah and swept through it. 5  They carried off everything they found in the royal palace, 6  including his sons and wives. None of his sons was left, except for his youngest, Ahaziah.

2 Chronicles 31:5

Context
31:5 When the edict was issued, 7  the Israelites freely contributed 8  the initial portion of their grain, wine, olive oil, honey, and all the produce of their fields. They brought a tenth of everything, which added up to a huge amount.

1 tn Or “army.”

2 tc The MT reads פְגָרִים (fÿgarim, “corpses”), but this seems odd among a list of plunder. A few medieval Hebrew mss and the Vulgate read בְגָדִים (vÿgadim, “clothing”), which fits the context much better.

3 tn Heb “and they snatched away for themselves so that there was no carrying away.”

4 tn Heb “and they were three days looting the plunder for it was great.”

5 tn Heb “broke it up.”

6 tn Heb “all the property which was found in the house of the king.”

7 tn Heb “and when the word spread out.”

8 tn Heb “the sons of Israel multiplied.”
