Context12:7 When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, he gave this message to Shemaiah: 1 “They have humbled themselves, so I will not destroy them. I will deliver them soon. 2 My anger will not be unleashed against 3 Jerusalem through 4 Shishak.

Context30:8 Now, don’t be stubborn 5 like your fathers! Submit 6 to the Lord and come to his sanctuary which he has permanently consecrated. Serve the Lord your God so that he might relent from his raging anger. 7

9 tn Heb “angering me with all the work of their hands.” The present translation assumes this refers to idols they have manufactured (note the preceding reference to “other gods”). However, it is possible that this is a general reference to their sinful practices, in which case one might translate, “angering me by all the things they do.”
