2 Chronicles 12:13

Context
12:13 King Rehoboam solidified his rule in Jerusalem; 1  he 2  was forty-one years old when he became king and he ruled for seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city the Lord chose from all the tribes of Israel to be his home. 3  Rehoboam’s 4  mother was an Ammonite named Naamah.

2 Chronicles 25:23

Context
25:23 King Joash of Israel captured King Amaziah of Judah, son of Joash son of Jehoahaz, in Beth Shemesh and brought him to Jerusalem. He broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the Gate of Ephraim to the Corner Gate – a distance of about six hundred feet. 5 

2 Chronicles 35:24

Context
35:24 So his servants took him out of the chariot, put him in another chariot that he owned, and brought him to Jerusalem, 6  where he died. He was buried in the tombs of his ancestors; 7  all the people of Judah and Jerusalem mourned Josiah.

1 tn Heb “and the king, Rehoboam, strengthened himself in Jerusalem and ruled.”

2 tn Heb “Rehoboam.” The recurrence of the proper name here is redundant in terms of contemporary English style, so the pronoun has been used in the translation instead.

3 tn Heb “the city where the Lord chose to place his name from all the tribes of Israel.”

4 tn Heb “his”; the referent has been specified in the translation for clarity.

5 tn Heb “400 cubits.” Assuming a cubit of 18 inches (45 cm), the distance would have been about 600 feet (180 m).
