10:6 King Rehoboam consulted with the older advisers who had served 1  his father Solomon when he had been alive. He asked them, 2  “How do you advise me to answer these people?”

2 Chronicles 25:17

Context

25:17 After King Amaziah of Judah consulted with his advisers, 3  he sent this message to the king of Israel, Joash son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, “Come, face me on the battlefield.” 4 

1 tn Heb “stood before.”

2 tn Heb “saying.”

3 tn The words “with his advisers” are supplied in the translation for clarification.

4 tn Heb “let us look at each other [in the] face.” The expression refers here not to a visit but to meeting in battle. See v. 21.
