1:9 Now, Lord God, may your promise 1  to my father David be realized, 2  for you have made me king over a great nation as numerous as the dust of the earth.

2 Chronicles 6:14

6:14 and prayed: 3  “O Lord God of Israel, there is no god like you in heaven or on earth! You maintain covenantal loyalty 4  to your servants who obey you with sincerity. 5 

2 Chronicles 6:18

Context

6:18 “God does not really live with humankind on the earth! 6  Look, if the sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this temple I have built!

2 Chronicles 16:9

Context
16:9 Certainly 7  the Lord watches the whole earth carefully 8  and is ready to strengthen those who are devoted to him. 9  You have acted foolishly in this matter; from now on you will have war.

1 tn Heb “you word.”

2 tn Or “be firm, established.”

3 tn Heb “said.”

4 tn Heb “one who keeps the covenant and the loyal love.”

5 tn Heb “who walk before you with all their heart.”

6 tn Heb “Indeed, can God really live with mankind on the earth?” The rhetorical question expects the answer, “Of course not,” the force of which is reflected in the translation “God does not really live with mankind on the earth.”

7 tn Or “for.”

8 tn Heb “the eyes of the Lord move quickly through all the earth.”

9 tn Heb “to strengthen himself with their heart, [the one] complete toward him.”
