1:6 Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the Lord which was at the meeting tent, and he offered up a thousand burnt sacrifices.

2 Chronicles 7:1

Solomon Dedicates the Temple

7:1 When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven 1  and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the Lord’s splendor filled the temple.

2 Chronicles 8:12

8:12 Then Solomon offered burnt sacrifices to the Lord on the altar of the Lord which he had built in front of the temple’s porch. 2

28:25 In every city throughout Judah he set up high places to offer sacrifices to other gods. He angered the Lord God of his ancestors.

29:11 My sons, do not be negligent now, for the Lord has chosen you to serve in his presence and offer sacrifices.” 3 

1 tn Or “the sky.” The Hebrew term שָׁמַיִם (shamayim) may be translated “heaven(s)” or “sky” depending on the context.

2 tn Heb “the porch.”

3 tn Heb “to stand before him to serve him and to be his servants and sacrificers.”
