Context

1:2 Solomon addressed all Israel, including those who commanded units of a thousand and a hundred, the judges, and all the leaders of all Israel who were heads of families.

2 Chronicles 9:16

9:16 He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold; 300 measures 1  of gold were used for each of those shields. The king placed them in the Palace of the Lebanon Forest. 2

28:12 So some of 13  the Ephraimite family leaders, Azariah son of Jehochanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, Jechizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai confronted 14  those returning from the battle. 28:13 They said to them, “Don’t bring those captives here! Are you planning on making us even more sinful and guilty before the Lord? 15  Our guilt is already great and the Lord is very angry at Israel.” 16

30:25 The celebration included 17  the entire assembly of Judah, the priests, the Levites, the entire assembly of those who came from Israel, the resident foreigners who came from the land of Israel, and the residents of Judah.

Hezekiah’s Shortcomings and Accomplishments

32:24 In those days Hezekiah was stricken with a terminal illness. 18  He prayed to the Lord, who answered him and gave him a sign confirming that he would be healed. 19 

1 tn The Hebrew text has simply “300,” with no unit of measure given.

2 sn This name was appropriate because of the large amount of cedar, undoubtedly brought from Lebanon, used in its construction. The cedar pillars in the palace must have given it the appearance of a forest. See 1 Kgs 7:2.

3 tn Heb “and after them from all the tribes of Israel, the ones giving their heart[s] to seek the Lord God of Israel came [to] Jerusalem.”
