1 Samuel 8:8

Context
8:8 Just as they have done 1  from the day that I brought them up from Egypt until this very day, they have rejected me and have served other gods. This is what they are also doing to you.

5 tn Heb “Look, I, I will die.” Apparently Jonathan is acquiescing to his anticipated fate of death. However, the words may be taken as sarcastic (“Here I am about to die!”) or as a question, “Must I now die?” (cf. NAB, NIV, NCV, NLT).

6 tn Heb “and he came and said before Jonathan.”

7 tn Heb “What is my guilt?”

8 tn Heb “how he has cut off.”
