1 Samuel 4:21

Context

4:21 She named the boy Ichabod, 1  saying, “The glory has departed from Israel,” referring to the capture of the ark of God and the deaths of her father-in-law and her husband.

1 Samuel 22:22

Context
22:22 Then David said to Abiathar, “I knew that day when Doeg the Edomite was there that he would certainly tell Saul! I am guilty 2  of all the deaths in your father’s house!

1 sn The name Ichabod (אִי־כָבוֹד) may mean, “Where is the glory?”

2 tc The translation follows the LXX, which reads “I am guilty,” rather than the MT, which has “I have turned.”
