Context
3:14 Therefore I swore an oath to the house of Eli, ‘The sin of the house of Eli can never be forgiven by sacrifice or by grain offering.’”

14:26 When the army entered the forest, they saw¹ the honey flowing, but no one ate any of it,² for the army was afraid of the oath.

19:6 Saul accepted Jonathan’s advice³ and took an oath, “As surely as the Lord lives, he will not be put to death.”

20:17 Jonathan once again took an oath with David, because he loved him. In fact Jonathan loved him as much as he did his own life.⁴
