The Lord Judges the House of Eli

2:27 A man of God came to Eli and said to him, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Did I not plainly 1  reveal myself to your ancestor’s 2  house when they were in Egypt in the house of Pharaoh?

1 Samuel 4:18

Context

4:18 When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli 3  fell backward from his chair beside the gate. He broke his neck and died, for he 4  was old and heavy. He had judged Israel for forty years.

1 Samuel 16:16

16:16 Let our lord instruct his servants who are here before you to look for a man who knows how to play the lyre. Then whenever the evil spirit from God comes upon you, he can play the lyre 5  and you will feel better.” 6
