1 Samuel 2:13

2:13 Now the priests would always treat the people in the following way: 1  Whenever anyone was making a sacrifice, while the meat was boiling, the priest’s attendant would come with a three-pronged fork 2  in his hand.

1 Samuel 5:7

5:7 When the people 3  of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel should not remain with us, for he has attacked 4  both us and our god Dagon!”

5:9 But after it had been moved the Lord attacked 5  that city as well, causing a great deal of panic. He struck all the people of that city 6  with sores. 7  5:10 So they sent the ark of God to Ekron.

But when the ark of God arrived at Ekron, the residents of Ekron cried out saying, “They have brought the ark of the God of Israel here 8  to kill our 9  people!”

13:4 All Israel heard this message, 21  “Saul has attacked the Philistine outpost, and now Israel is repulsive 22  to the Philistines!” So the people were summoned to join 23  Saul at Gilgal.

15:30 Saul 24  again replied, “I have sinned. But please honor me before the elders of my people and before Israel. Go back with me so I may worship the Lord your God.”

2 sn The Hebrew word occurs only twice in the OT, here and again in v. 14. Its exact meaning is not entirely clear, although from the context it appears to be a sacrificial tool used for retrieving things from boiling water.
