12:14 If you fear the Lord, serving him and obeying him 1  and not rebelling against what he says, 2  and if both you and the king who rules over you follow the Lord your God, all will be well. 3

Context
21:1 (21:2) David went to Ahimelech the priest in Nob. Ahimelech was shaking with fear when he met 4  David, and said to him, “Why are you by yourself with no one accompanying you?”

1 tn Heb “and you listen to his voice.”

2 tn Heb “the mouth of the Lord.” So also in v. 15.

3 tn The words “all will be well” are supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

4 tn Heb “trembled to meet.”
