11:10 The men of Jabesh said, “Tomorrow we will come out to you 1  and you can do with us whatever you wish.” 2

Context

11:3 The elders of Jabesh said to him, “Leave us alone for seven days so that we can send messengers throughout the territory of Israel. If there is no one who can deliver us, we will come out voluntarily to you.”

1 Samuel 31:12

Context
31:12 all their warriors set out and traveled throughout the night. They took Saul’s corpse and the corpses of his sons from the city wall of Beth Shan and went 3  to Jabesh, where they burned them.

1 tn The second masculine plural forms in this quotation indicate that Nahash and his army are addressed.

2 tn Heb “according to all that is good in your eyes.”

3 tc The translation follows the MT, which vocalizes the verb as a Qal. The LXX, however, treats the verb as a Hiphil, “they brought.”
