8:25 Now, O Lord, God of Israel, keep the promise you made to your servant, my father David, when you said, ‘You will never fail to have a successor ruling before me on the throne of Israel, 1  provided that your descendants watch their step and serve me as you have done.’ 2 

1 Kings 8:66

8:66 On the fifteenth day after the festival started, 3  he dismissed the people. They asked God to empower the king 4  and then went to their homes, happy and content 5  because of all the good the Lord had done for his servant David and his people Israel.

1 Kings 16:7

16:7 The prophet Jehu son of Hanani received from the Lord the message predicting the downfall of Baasha and his family because of all the evil Baasha had done in the sight of the Lord. 6  His actions angered the Lord (including the way he had destroyed Jeroboam’s dynasty), so that his family ended up like Jeroboam’s. 7

18:36 When it was time for the evening offering, 9  Elijah the prophet approached the altar 10  and prayed: “O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, prove 11  today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.
