8:20 The Lord has kept the promise he made. 1  I have taken my father David’s place and have occupied the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised. I have built this temple for the honor 2  of the Lord God of Israel

10:9 May the Lord your God be praised because he favored 3  you by placing you on the throne of Israel! Because of the Lord’s eternal love for Israel, he made you king so you could make just and right decisions.” 4 

1 Kings 18:21

18:21 Elijah approached all the people and said, “How long are you going to be paralyzed by indecision? 5  If the Lord is the true God, 6  then follow him, but if Baal is, follow him!” But the people did not say a word.
