1 Kings 7:25

Context
7:25 “The Sea” stood on top of twelve bulls. Three faced northward, three westward, three southward, and three eastward. “The Sea” was placed on top of them, and they all faced outward. 1 

1 Kings 8:9

Context
8:9 There was nothing in the ark except the two stone tablets Moses had placed there in Horeb. 2  It was there that 3  the Lord made an agreement with the Israelites after he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

1 Kings 10:17

Context
10:17 He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold; three minas 4  of gold were used for each of these shields. The king placed them in the Palace of the Lebanon Forest. 5 

1 tn Heb “all their hindquarters were toward the inside.”

2 sn Horeb is another name for Mount Sinai.

3 tn Heb “in Horeb where.”

4 sn Three minas. The mina was a unit of measure for weight.

5 sn The Palace of the Lebanon Forest. This name was appropriate because of the large amount of cedar, undoubtedly brought from Lebanon, used in its construction. The cedar pillars in the palace must have given it the appearance of a forest.
