6:2 The temple King Solomon built for the Lord was 90 feet 1  long, 30 feet 2  wide, and 45 feet 3  high.

1 tn Heb “sixty cubits.” A cubit was a unit of measure roughly equivalent to 18 inches or 45 cm. Measurements in vv. 2-10 have been converted to feet in the translation for clarity.

2 tn Heb “twenty cubits.”

3 tn Heb “thirty cubits.”

4 tn Heb “two capitals he made to place on the tops of the pillars, cast in bronze; five cubits was the height of the first capital, and five cubits was the height of the second capital.”

5 tn Heb “the capitals which were on the top of the pillars were the work of lilies, in the porch, four cubits.” It is unclear exactly what dimension is being measured.

6 tn Heb “and the same thing he did for all his foreign wives, [who] were burning incense and sacrificing to their gods.”

7 tn Heb “yet the heart of Asa was complete with the Lord all his days.”
