1 Kings 11:33

11:33 I am taking the kingdom from him 1  because they have 2  abandoned me and worshiped the Sidonian goddess Astarte, the Moabite god Chemosh, and the Ammonite god Milcom. They have not followed my instructions 3  by doing what I approve and obeying my rules and regulations, like Solomon’s father David did. 4

12:14 and followed 5  the advice of the younger ones. He said, “My father imposed heavy demands on you; I will make them even heavier. 6  My father punished you with ordinary whips; I will punish you with whips that really sting your flesh.” 7 

1 Kings 19:21

19:21 Elisha 8  went back and took his pair of oxen and slaughtered them. He cooked the meat over a fire that he made by burning the harness and yoke. 9  He gave the people meat and they ate. Then he got up and followed Elijah and became his assistant.
