  Be true and list the voice within, Be true unto thy high ideal, Thy perfect self, that knows no sin, That self that is the only real. God is the only perfect One: My perfect self is one with Him; So man is seen as God’s own son, When truth dispels the shadows dim. True to our God Whose Name is Love, We shall fulfill our Father’s plan; For true means true to God above, To self, and to our fellow man.

• [1Jo 3:24] Abide In Me, O Lord

  Abide in me, O Lord, and I in Thee, From this good hour, oh, leave me nevermore; Then shall the discord cease, the wound be healed, The lifelong bleeding of the soul be o’er. Abide in me; o’ershadow by Thy love Each half formed purpose and dark thought of sin; Quench ere it rise each selfish, low desire, And keep my soul as Thine, calm and divine. As some rare perfume in a vase of clay, Pervades it with a fragrance not its own, So, when Thou dwellest in a mortal soul, All Heaven’s own sweetness seems around it thrown. Abide in me; there have been moments blest When I have heard Thy voice and felt Thy power; Then evil lost its grasp; and passion, hushed, Owned the divine enchantment of the hour. These were but seasons beautiful and rare; Abide in me, and they shall ever be; Fulfill at once Thy precept and my prayer, Come, and abide in me, and I in Thee.

  Live out Thy life within me, O Jesus, King of kings! Be Thou Thyself the answer to all my questionings; Live out Thy life within me, in all things have Thy way! I, the transparent medium, Thy glory to display. The temple has been yielded, and purified of sin, Let Thy Shekinah glory now shine forth from within, And all the earth keep silence, the body henceforth be Thy silent, gentle servant, moved only as by Thee. Its members every moment held subject to Thy call, Ready to have Thee use them, or not be used at all, Held without restless longing, or strain, or stress, or fret, Or chafings at Thy dealings, or thoughts of vain regret. But restful, calm and pliant, from bend and bias free, Awaiting Thy decision, when Thou hast need of me. Live out Thy life within me, O Jesus, King of kings! Be Thou the glorious answer to all my questionings.
