1 Corinthians 2:2

[1Co 2:2] Ask Ye What Great Thing I Know
Ask ye what great thing I know,
That delights and stirs me so?
What the high reward I win?
Whose the Name I glory in?
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.What is faith’s foundation strong?
What awakes my heart to song?
He Who bore my sinful load,
Purchased for me peace with God,
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.Who is He that makes me wise
To discern where duty lies?
Who is He that makes me true
Duty, when discerned to do,
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.Who defeats my fiercest foes?
Who consoles my saddest woes?
Who revives my fainting heart,
Healing all its hidden smart?
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.Who is life in life to me?
Who the death of death will be?
Who will place me on His right,
With the countless hosts of light?
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.This is that great thing I know;
This delights and stirs me so;
Faith in Him Who died to save,
Him Who triumphed over the grave:
Jesus Christ, the Crucified.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[1Co 2:2] Blest Be The Dear Uniting Love
Blest be the dear uniting love,
That will not let us part!
Our bodies may far off remove,
We still are one in heart.Joined in one spirit to our Head,
Where He appoints we go;
And still in Jesus’ footsteps tread,
And show His praise below.O may we ever walk in Him,
And nothing know beside;
Nothing desire, nothing esteem,
But Jesus crucified.Closer and closer let us cleave
To His beloved embrace;
Expect His fullness to receive
And grace to answer grace.While thus we walk with Christ in light
Who shall our souls disjoin,
Souls, which Himself vouchsafes t’unite
In fellowship divine!We all are one who Him receive,
The same in mind and heart,
Nor joy, nor grief, nor time, nor place,
Nor life, nor death can part.Partakers of the Savior’s grace,
The same in mind and heart,
Nor joy, nor grief, nor time, nor place,
Nor life, nor death can part.But let us hasten to the day
Which shall our flesh restore,
When death shall all be done away,
And bodies part no more!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[1Co 2:2] Jesus Only (kirkland)
Nothing earthly meets the longing,
Nothing here can satisfy,
But the love and grace of Jesus
Meet and still each longing cry.Refrain
“Jesus only, Jesus only,”
Be my raptured song today;
“Jesus only, Jesus only,”
Jesus, Jesus all the way.“Jesus only” on the mountain,
When my heart with rapture thrills;
“Jesus only” in the valley,
When life’s woe my spirit fills.Refrain
O to spend each passing moment
As in sight of His dear face!
O to show to souls in darkness
All the beauty of His grace!Refrain
Grace that saves me, grace that keeps me,
Grace that helps me day by day;
Faith and hope and peace renewing,
Lest I falter by the way.Refrain
Jesus, Savior, Thou hast bought me,
Thou hast sealed me for Thine own;
Hold me, guard me, and direct me,
Till Thou callest, “Child, come home.”Refrain

[1Co 2:2] Let The World Their Virtue Boast
Let the world their virtue boast,
Their works of righteousness,
I, a wretch undone and lost,
Am freely saved by grace;
Other title I disclaim;
This, only this, is all my plea:
I the chief of sinners am,
But Jesus died for me.I, like Gideon’s fleece, am found
Unwatered still, and dry,
While the dew on all around,
Falls plenteous from the sky;
Yet my Lord I cannot blame,
The Savior’s grace for all is free:
I the chief of sinners am,
But Jesus died for me.Surely He will lift me up,
For I of Him have need;
I cannot give up my hope,
Though I am cold and dead;
To bring fire on earth He came;
O that it now might kindled be!
I the chief of sinners am,
But Jesus died for me.Jesus, Thou for me hast died,
And Thou in me wilt live;
I shall feel Thy death applied,
I shall Thy life receive;
Yet, when melted in the flame
Of love, this shall be all my plea:
I the chief of sinners am,
But Jesus died for me.Play source: Cyberhymnal

[1Co 15:57] Joyful Song, The
Behold! a royal army,
With banner, sword and shield,
Are marching forth to conquer,
On life’s great battlefield;
Its ranks are filled with soldiers,
United, bold and strong,
Who followed their Commander,
And sing their joyful song.Refrain
Victory, victory,
Thro’ Him that redeemed us!
Victory, victory,
Thro’ Jesus Christ our Lord!
Victory, victory, victory,
Thro’ Jesus Christ our Lord!And now the foe, advancing,
That valiant host assails,
And yet they never falter,
Their courage never fails;
Their Leader calls, “Be faithful!”
They pass the word along,
They see His signal flashing,
And shout the joyful song.Refrain
Oh, when the war is ended,
When strife and conflict cease,
When all are safely gathered
Within the vale of peace,
Before the King eternal,
That vast and mighty throng
Shall praise His Name forever,
And this shall be their song.Refrain

Victory is nigh! yes, victory is nigh!
Shout with voice triumphant to the vaulted sky;
Victory is nigh! yes, victory is nigh!

With determination sin to overthrow;
Satan’s hosts are trembling, foes before us fly,
For victory is nigh, yes, victory is nigh.Refrain

[1Co 15:57] We March To Victory
Refrain
We march, we march to victory,
With the cross of the Lord before us,
With His loving eye looking down from the sky,
And His holy arm spread o’er us,
His holy arm spread o’er us.We come in the might of the Lord of light,
With armor bright to meet Him;
And we put to flight the armies of night,
That the sons of the day may greet Him,
The sons of day may greet Him.Refrain
Our sword is the Spirit of God on high,
Our helmet is His salvation,
Our banner the cross of Calvary.
Our watchword, the Incarnation,
Our watchword, the Incarnation.Refrain
And the choir of angels with song awaits
Our march to the golden Zion,
For our Captain has broken the brazen gates,
And burst the bars of iron,
And burst the bars of iron.Refrain
Then onward we march, our arms to prove,
With the banner of Christ before us,
With His eye of love looking down from above,
And His holy arm spread o’er us,
His holy arm spread o’er us.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[1Co 15:57] Welcome, Thou Victor In The Strife
Welcome, Thou Victor in the strife,
Welcome from out the grave;
Today we triumph in Thy life
Around Thy empty grave;
Today we triumph in Thy life
Around Thy empty grave.Our enemy is put to shame,
His short lived triumph o’er;
Our God is with us, we exclaim,
We fear our foe no more;
Our God is with us, we exclaim,
We fear our foe no more.The dwellings of the just resound
With songs of victory;
For in their midst, Thou, Lord, art found,
And brightest peace with Thee;
For in their midst, Thou, Lord, art found,
And brightest peace with Thee.O let Thy conquering banner wave
O’er hearts Thou makest free;
And point the path that from the grave
Leads heav’nward up to Thee;
And point the path that from the grave
Leads heav’nward up to Thee.We bury all our sin and shame
Deep in our Savior’s tomb,
And seek the treasure there, that time
Nor change can e’er consume;
And seek the treasure there, that time
Nor change can e’er consume.We die with Thee: O let us live
Henceforth to Thee aright;
The blessings Thou hast died to give
Be daily in our sight;
The blessings Thou hast died to give
Be daily in our sight.Fearless we lay us in the tomb,
And sleep the night away,
If Thou art there to break the gloom,
And call us back to day;
If Thou art there to break the gloom,
And call us back to day.Play source: Cyberhymnal
