9:1 Genealogical records were kept for all Israel; they are recorded in the Scroll of the Kings of Israel.

12:40 Also their neighbors, from as far away as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali, were bringing food on donkeys, camels, mules, and oxen. There were large supplies of flour, fig cakes, raisins, wine, olive oil, beef, and lamb, 2  for Israel was celebrating. 3 

1 Chronicles 19:4

Context
19:4 So Hanun seized David’s servants and shaved their beards off. 4  He cut off the lower part of their robes so that their buttocks were exposed 5  and then sent them away.

1 tn The Hebrew text has simply “Judah,” though the verb הָגְלוּ (hoglu, “carried away”) is plural.

2 tn Heb “cattle and sheep.”

3 tn Heb “for there was joy in Israel.”

4 tn Heb “shaved them.” See v. 5.

5 tn Heb “and he cut their robes in the middle unto the buttocks.”
