1 tc The Hebrew text has אֲחִי (’akhiy, “the brother of”), but this should probably be emended to אֲחִיו (’akhiyv, “his brother”). Cf. v. 35. Most English versions treat this Hebrew word as a proper name (“Ahi”) and list it before “Rohgah.”
3 tc “Hubbah” is the marginal reading (Qere); the consonantal text (Kethib) has “Jachbah.”
4 tn The parallel text of 2 Sam 23:36 has the variant “Igal son of Nathan from Zobah.”
