22:12 Only may the Lord give you insight and understanding when he places you in charge of Israel, so you may obey³ the law of the Lord your God.

¹tn Some translations treat the terms שֻׁפִּים (shuppim) and חֻפִּים (khuppim) as proper names of individuals (“Huppim” and “Shuppim”), but others consider these forms to be plurals and refer to tribal or clan names.

²tn Heb “and the name of the second was Zelophehad.”
