6:49 But Aaron and his descendants offered sacrifices on the altar for burnt offerings and on the altar for incense as they had been assigned to do in the most holy sanctuary. 1  They made atonement for Israel, just as God’s servant Moses had ordered. 2

1 Chronicles 25:6

Context

25:6 All of these were under the supervision of their fathers; they were musicians in the Lord’s temple, playing cymbals and stringed instruments as they served in God’s temple. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the supervision of the king.

3 tn The words “he told them” are added in the translation for clarity and for stylistic reasons.

4 tn In the Hebrew text the statement is phrased as a rhetorical question, “Is not the Lord your God with you?” The question anticipates the response, “Of course he is!” Thus in the translation the positive statement “The Lord your God is with you!” has been used.

5 tn Heb “and he gives rest to you all around.”

6 tn Or “earth.”

7 tn Or “earth.”
