1 Chronicles 4:27

Context

4:27 Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters. But his brothers did not have many sons, so their whole clan was not as numerous as the sons of Judah.

1 Chronicles 8:38

Context

8:38 Azel had six sons: Azrikam his firstborn, 1  followed by Ishmael, Sheariah, 2  Obadiah, and Hanan. All these were the sons of Azel.

1 Chronicles 26:17

Context
26:17 Each day there were six Levites posted on the east, four on the north, and four on the south. At the storehouses they were posted in pairs.

1 tc The Hebrew text has בֹּכְרוּ (bokhÿru), which some understand as a name: “Bocheru” (so, e.g., NEB, NASB, NIV, NRSV). But the form should probably be revocalized בְּכֹרוֹ (bÿkhoru, “his firstborn”). A name has accidentally dropped from the list, and a scribe apparently read בֹּכְרוּ as one of the names.

2 tc The Lucianic recension of the LXX inserts another name here, καὶ Ἀζαριας (kai Azarias, “and Azariah”), presumably to make up the six sons mentioned at the beginning of the verse (see the previous tc note on “firstborn”). Cf. NAB.
