1 Chronicles 23:13

Context

23:13 The sons of Amram:

Aaron and Moses.

Aaron and his descendants were chosen on a permanent basis to consecrate the most holy items, to offer sacrifices before the Lord, to serve him, and to praise his name. 1

1 Chronicles 25:3

Context

25:3 From the sons of Jeduthun: 2  Gedaliah, Zeri, 3  Jeshaiah, 4  Hashabiah, and Mattithiah – six in all, 5  under supervision of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied as he played a harp, giving thanks and praise to the Lord.

1 Chronicles 29:20

Context

29:20 David told the entire assembly: “Praise the Lord your God!” So the entire assembly praised the Lord God of their ancestors; they bowed down and stretched out flat on the ground before the Lord and the king.

1 tn Heb “and Aaron was set apart to consecrate it, the most holy things, he and his sons, permanently, to sacrifice before the Lord, to serve him, and to bless his name permanently.”

2 tn Heb “belonging to Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun.”

3 tn This name appears as “Izri” in v. 10.

4 tc One Hebrew ms and some LXX mss supply the name “Shimei” after “Jeshaiah.” Most Hebrew mss omit the name here (but cf. v. 17).

5 tc The list includes only five names. Apparently the name “Shimei” (see v. 17), which appears in one medieval Hebrew ms and in the LXX, has been accidentally omitted from the Hebrew text.
