1 Chronicles 21:17

Context
21:17 David said to God, “Was I not the one who decided to number the army? I am the one who sinned and committed this awful deed! 1  As for these sheep – what have they done? O Lord my God, attack me and my family, 2  but remove the plague from your people!” 3 

1 Chronicles 28:2

Context

28:2 King David rose to his feet and said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I wanted to build a temple where the ark of the Lord’s covenant could be placed as a footstool for our God. 4  I have made the preparations for building it.

1 tn “and doing evil I did evil.” The infinitive absolute precedes the finite form of the verb for emphasis.

2 tn Heb “let your hand be on me and on the house of my father.”

3 tn Heb “but on your people not for a plague.”

4 tn Heb “I, with my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for a stool of the feet of our God.”
