Judah’s Descendants

2:3 The sons of Judah:

Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him by Bathshua, 1  a Canaanite woman. Er, Judah’s firstborn, displeased the Lord, so the Lord killed him. 2

27:24 Joab son of Zeruiah started to count the men but did not finish. God was angry with Israel 26  because of this, so the number was not recorded in the scroll 27  called The Annals of King David.

29:20 David told the entire assembly: “Praise the Lord your God!” So the entire assembly praised the Lord God of their ancestors; they bowed down and stretched out flat on the ground before the Lord and the king.
