2 tn Heb “with songs and with zithers [meaning uncertain] and with harps.” Due to the collocation with “harps,” some type of stringed instrument is probably in view.

3 tn The word “served” is supplied in the translation for clarity and for stylistic reasons.

4 tn Or “high place.”

5 tn Heb “and the army which was with him.”

6 tn Heb “assembly, and David said.” The words “and David said” are redundant according to contemporary English style and have not been included in the translation.
