Context12:17 David went out to meet them and said, 1 “If you come to me in peace and want to help me, then I will make an alliance with you. 2 But if you come to betray me to my enemies when I have not harmed you, 3 may the God of our ancestors 4 take notice and judge!” 12:18 But a spirit 5 empowered 6 Amasai, the leader of the thirty warriors, and he said: 7
“We are yours, O David!
We support 8 you, O son of Jesse!
May you greatly prosper! 9
May those who help you prosper! 10
Indeed 11 your God helps you!”
So David accepted them and made them leaders of raiding bands.
1 Chronicles 13:2
Context13:2 David said to the whole Israelite assembly, “If you so desire and the Lord our God approves, 12 let’s spread the word 13 to our brothers who remain in all the regions of Israel, and to the priests and Levites in their cities, 14 so they may join us.

Context22:8 But the Lord said to me: 22 ‘You have spilled a great deal of blood and fought many battles. You must not build a temple to honor me, 23 for you have spilled a great deal of blood on the ground before me.

Context28:2 King David rose to his feet and said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I wanted to build a temple where the ark of the Lord’s covenant could be placed as a footstool for our God. 24 I have made the preparations for building it.

Context28:20 David said to his son Solomon: “Be strong and brave! Do it! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic! 25 For the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not leave you or abandon you before all the work for the service of the Lord’s temple is finished.
