1 Chronicles 12:18-19
Context12:18 But a spirit 2 empowered 3 Amasai, the leader of the thirty warriors, and he said: 4
“We are yours, O David!
We support 5 you, O son of Jesse!
May you greatly prosper! 6
May those who help you prosper! 7
Indeed 8 your God helps you!”
So David accepted them and made them leaders of raiding bands.
12:19 Some men from Manasseh joined 9 David when he went with the Philistines to fight against Saul. (But in the end they did not help the Philistines because, after taking counsel, the Philistine lords sent David away, saying: “It would be disastrous for us if he deserts to his master Saul.”) 10

Context21:16 David looked up and saw the Lord’s messenger standing between the earth and sky with his sword drawn and in his hand, stretched out over Jerusalem. David and the leaders, covered with sackcloth, threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. 11
