1 Chronicles 10:12

1 Chronicles 17:1

Context
God Makes a Promise to David

17:1 When David had settled into his palace, 3  he 4  said to Nathan the prophet, “Look, I am living in a palace 5  made from cedar, while the ark of the Lord’s covenant is under a tent.” 6

1 Chronicles 25:3

Context

25:3 From the sons of Jeduthun: 7  Gedaliah, Zeri, 8  Jeshaiah, 9  Hashabiah, and Mattithiah – six in all, 10  under supervision of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied as he played a harp, giving thanks and praise to the Lord.

1 tn Heb “arose and carried away the corpse of Saul and the corpses of his sons.”

2 tn Heb “their bones.”

3 tn Heb “house.”

4 tn Heb “David.” The pronoun “he” has been used in the translation here to avoid redundancy in keeping with contemporary English style.

5 tn Heb “house.”

6 tn Heb “tent curtains.”

7 tn Heb “belonging to Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun.”

8 tn This name appears as “Izri” in v. 10.

9 tc One Hebrew ms and some LXX mss supply the name “Shimei” after “Jeshaiah.” Most Hebrew mss omit the name here (but cf. v. 17).

10 tc The list includes only five names. Apparently the name “Shimei” (see v. 17), which appears in one medieval Hebrew ms and in the LXX, has been accidentally omitted from the Hebrew text.
