2 tn In Hebrew the name יַעְבֵּץ (ya’bets, “Jabez”) sounds like the noun עֹצֶב (’otsev) which means “pain.”
3 tn Heb “and [one] for a leader [was] from him.” This probably refers to the Davidic king.
