Ezekiel 13:20

13:20 “‘Therefore, this is what the sovereign Lord says: Take note 1  that I am against your wristbands with which you entrap people’s lives 2  like birds. I will tear them from your arms and will release the people’s lives, which you hunt like birds.

Ezekiel 16:37

16:37 therefore, take note: I am about to gather all your lovers whom you enjoyed, both all those you loved and all those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around, and I will expose your nakedness to them, and they will see all your nakedness. 3 

Ezekiel 25:7

25:7 take note, I have stretched out my hand against you, and I will hand you over as plunder 4  to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples and make you perish from the lands. I will destroy you; then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

1 tn The word הִנֵּה (hinneh, traditionally “behold”) indicates becoming aware of something and has been translated here as a verb.

2 tn Heb “human lives” or “souls.”

3 sn Harlots suffered degradation when their nakedness was exposed (Jer 13:22, 26; Hos 2:12; Nah 3:5).

4 tc The translation here follows the marginal reading (Qere) of the Hebrew text. The consonantal text (Kethib) is meaningless.
