18:16 This accords with what happened at Horeb in the day of the assembly. You asked the Lord your God: “Please do not make us hear the voice of the Lord our ¹  God any more or see this great fire any more lest we die.”

Deuteronomy 31:21

31:21 Then when ²  many disasters and distresses overcome them ³  this song will testify against them, ⁴  for their ⁵  descendants will not forget it. ⁶  I know the ⁷  intentions they have in mind ⁸  today, even before I bring them ⁹  to the land I have promised.”
