Romans 5:12--7:25
-
[Rom 5:13] Thou Power And Peace
Thou Power and Peace, in whom we find
All holiest strength, all purest love,
The rushing of the mighty wind,
The brooding of the gentle dove.Forever lend Thy sovereign aid,
And urge us on, and keep us Thine;
Nor leave the hearts which Thou hast made,
Fit temples of Thy grace divine.Nor let us quench Thy saving light;
But still with softest breathings stir,
Our wayward souls, and lead us right,
O Holy Spirit, Comforter!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rom 5:15] O Gift Of Gifts!
O gift of gifts! O grace of faith!
My God, how can it be
That Thou, who hast discerning love
Shouldst give that gift to me?How many hearts Thou mightst have had
More innocent than mine,
How many souls more worthy far
Of that sweet touch of Thine!Ah, grace, unto unlikeliest hearts
It is thy boast to come;
The glory of thy light to find
In darkest spots a home.How can they live, how will they die,
How bear the cross of grief,
Who have not yet the light of faith,
The courage of belief?The crowd of cares, the weightiest cross,
Seems trifles less than light:
Earth looks so little and so low
When faith shines full and bright.O happy, happy that I am!
If thou canst be, O faith,
The treasure that thou art in life,
What will thou be in death?Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rom 5:20] Grace Greater Than Our Sin
Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.Refrain
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.Refrain
Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can avail to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.Refrain
Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?Refrain

[Rom 5:20] His Grace Aboundeth More
O what a wonderful Savior
In Jesus, my Lord, I have found!
Tho’ I had sins without number,
His grace unto me did abound.Refrain
His grace aboundeth more.
His grace aboundeth more.
Tho’ sin abounded in my heart,
His grace aboundeth more.When a poor sinner He found me;
No goodness to offer had I.
Often His law I had broken
And merited naught but to die.Refrain
Nothing of merit possessing,
All helpless before Him I lay;
But, in the precious blood flowing,
He washed all my sin-stains away.Refrain
How can I keep from rejoicing?
I’ll sing of the joy in my soul,
Praising the love of my Savior
While years of eternity roll.Refrain

[Rom 6:8] Buried With Christ
Buried with Christ and raised with Him, too,
What is there left for me to do?
Simply to cease from struggling and strife,
Simply to walk in newness of life.Refrain
Buried with Christ and dead unto sin;
Dying but living, Jesus within;
Ruling and reigning day after day,
Guiding and keeping all of the way.Risen with Christ my glorious Head,
Holiness now the pathway I tread;
Beautiful thought from walking therein,
He that is dead is freed from all sin.Refrain
Living with Christ, who dieth no more,
Following Christ, who goeth before;
Not under law, I’m now under grace,
Sin is dethroned, and Christ takes its place.Refrain

[Rom 6:9] Great God And Saviour
Great God and Saviour, on this Easter day
Gathered in Thy presence, we Thy children pray;
Make our praises incense, waft them all around
As we lift our voices, this the joyful sound:Refrain
We’re here to praise You, Resurrection Day
Fill us with Your Spirit, speak, O Lord, we pray.Angels announce Him, Jesus is the Lord and Christ
Source of our redemption, centre of our tryst;
He the Way has opened so that sinners we
Find through Him our pardon, peace and purity.Refrain
Death hides no terrors, naught can separate
Thou the conqu’ring Saviour we appreciate;
Worshipping before Thee, in Thy righteousness
Thy death hath procured this, Thee we gladly bless.Refrain
Here then is Jesus, sound His praises long,
Blend them all together, sing them in a song.
Make them loud and joyful, ‘Resurrection Day’
Christ is all victorious, nothing more to pay.Refrain

[Rom 6:12] Do No Sinful Action
Do no sinful action,
Speak no angry word;
Ye belong to Jesus,
Children of the Lord.Christ is kind and gentle,
Christ is pure and true;
And His little children
Must be holy, too.There’s a wicked spirit
Watching round you still,
And he tries to tempt you
To all harm and ill.But ye must not hear him,
Though ’tis hard for you
To resist the evil,
And the good to do.For ye promised truly,
In your infant days,
To renounce him wholly,
And forsake his ways.Ye are newborn Christians,
Ye must learn to fight
With the bad within you,
And to do the right.Christ is your own Master,
He is good and true,
And His little children
Must be holy, too.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rom 6:13] Fully Surrendered
Fully surrendered to Jesus the Lord,
Fully surrendered, I trust in His Word;
Hath He not promised that all who believe,
Perfect salvation from Him shall receive?Refrain
Fully surrendered, fully surrendered,
All on the altar and under the blood;
Fully surrendered, fully surrendered,
Pardoned and cleansed, hallelujah to God!Fully surrendered, the struggle is o’er,
Now from my Savior I’ll wander no more;
Gladly the world and its pleasures forsake,
And with my Savior the narrow way take;Refrain
Fully surrendered, to go or to stay,
Just where He needs me, His will to obey;
Humbly to follow wherever He leads,
Trusting His Word to supply all my needs.Refrain

[Rom 6:16] Let Me Be Thine Forever
Let me be Thine forever, Thou faithful God and Lord;
Let me forsake Thee never, nor wander from Thy Word.
Lord, do not let me waver, but give me steadfastness,
And for such grace forever Thy holy Name I’ll bless.Lord Jesus, my Salvation, my Light, my Life divine,
My only Consolation, oh, make me wholly Thine!
For Thou hast dearly bought me with blood and bitter pain.
Let me, since Thou hast sought me, eternal life obtain.And Thou, O Holy Spirit, my Comforter and Guide,
Grant that in Jesus’ merit I always may confide,
Him to the end confessing Whom I have known by faith.
Give me Thy constant blessing and grant a Christian death.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rom 6:22] Ye Ransomed Sinners, Hear
Ye ransomed sinners, hear,
The prisoners of the Lord;
And wait till Christ appear
According to His Word.
Rejoice in hope; rejoice with me.
Rejoice in hope; rejoice with me.
We shall from all our sins be free.In God we put our trust:
If we our sins confess,
Faithful He is, and just,
From all unrighteousness
To cleanse us all, both you and me;
To cleanse us all, both you and me;
We shall from all our sins be free.Surely in us the hope
Of glory shall appear;
Sinners, your heads lift up
And see redemption near.
Again I say: rejoice with me.
Again I say: rejoice with me.
We shall from all our sins be free.The Word of God is sure,
And never can remove;
We shall in heart be pure
And perfected in love.
Rejoice in hope; rejoice with me.
Rejoice in hope; rejoice with me.
We shall from all our sins be free.Then let us gladly bring
Our sacrifice of praise;
Let us give thanks and sing
And glory in His grace.
Rejoice in hope; rejoice with me.
Rejoice in hope; rejoice with me.
We shall from all our sins be free.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rom 6:23] The Woman’s Hymn
Come, women, wide proclaim
Life through your Savior slain;
Sing evermore.
Christ, God’s effulgence bright,
Christ, who arose in might,
Christ, who crowns you with light,
Praise and adore.Come, clasping children’s hands,
Sisters from many lands,
Teach to adore.
For the sin sick and worn,
The weak and overborne,
All who in darkness mourn,
Pray, work, yet more.Work with your courage high,
Sing of the daybreak nigh,
Your love outpour.
Stars shall your brow adorn,
Your heart leap with the morn,
And, by His Love upborne,
Hope and adore.Then when the garnered field
Shall to our Master yield
A bounteous store,
Christ, hope of all the meek,
Christ, whom all the earth shall seek,
Christ your reward shall speak,
Joy evermore.source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rom 7:15] I Would, But Cannot Sing
I would, but cannot sing,
Guilt has untuned my voice;
The serpent sin’s envenomed sting
Has poisoned all my joys.I know the Lord is nigh,
And would, but cannot, pray;
For Satan meets me when I try,
And frights my soul away.I would but can’t repent
Though I endeavor oft;
This stony heart can ne’er relent
Till Jesus make it soft.I would but cannot love,
Though wooed by love divine;
No arguments have pow’r to move
A soul so base as mine.I would, but cannot rest
In God’s most holy will;
I know what He appoints is best,
Yet murmur at it still!Oh could I but believe!
Then all would easy be;
I would, but cannot, Lord relieve,
My help must come from Thee!But if indeed I would,
Though I can nothing do,
Yet the desire is something good,
For which my praise is due.By nature prone to ill,
Till Thine appointed hour
I was as destitute of will,
As now I am of pow’r.Wilt Thou not crown, at length,
The work Thou hast begun?
And with a will, afford me strength
In all Thy ways to run.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Rom 7:25] I Do Not Come Because My Soul
I do not come because my soul
Is free from sin and pure and whole
And worthy of Thy grace;
I do not speak to Thee because
I’ve ever justly kept Thy laws
And dare to meet Thy face.I know that sin and guilt combine
To reign o’er every thought of mine
And turn from good to ill;
I know that, when I try to be
Upright and just and true to Thee,
I am a sinner still.I know that often when I strive
To keep a spark of love alive
For Thee, the powers within
Leap up in unsubmissive might
And oft benumb my sense of right
And pull me back to sin.I know that, though in doing good
I spend my life, I never could
Atone for all I’ve done;
But though my sins are black as night,
I dare to come before Thy sight
Because I trust Thy Son.In Him alone my trust I place,
Come boldly to Thy throne of grace,
And there commune with Thee.
Salvation sure, O Lord, is mine,
And, all unworthy, I am Thine,
For Jesus died for me.Play source: Cyberhymnal
