Context19:30 Everyone who saw the sight 1 said, “Nothing like this has happened or been witnessed during the entire time since 2 the Israelites left the land of Egypt! 3 Take careful note of it! Discuss it and speak!”
20:1 All the Israelites from Dan to Beer Sheba 4 and from the land of Gilead 5 left their homes 6 and assembled together 7 before the Lord at Mizpah.

2 tn Heb “from the day.”
3 tc Codex Alexandrinus (A) of the (original) LXX has the following additional words: “And he instructed the men whom he sent out, ‘Thus you will say to every male Israelite: “There has never been anything like this from the day the Israelites left Egypt till the present day.”’”
4 sn Dan was located in the far north of the country, while Beer Sheba was located in the far south. This encompassed all the territory of the land of Canaan occupied by the Israelites.
5 sn The land of Gilead was on the eastern side of the Jordan River.
6 tn Heb “went out.”
