Romans 15:7-13

• [Rom 15:7] In Homes Where Pride And Splendor

  In homes where pride and splendor Their silken banners flare, In homes where childhood tender Is crushed by every care, Is heard the cry of anguish From many a helpless slave, Where Satan’s captives languish, And only Christ can save. What tho’ our flag in glory Floats over freedom’s land, While degradation’s story Is writ on every hand, While in the marts of labor, In lordly halls of state, The Christlike love of neighbor Is lost in greed and hate? Shall we, to whom is given For sin the only cure, Vouchsafed to earth by Heaven, While nations shall endure; Shall we, in this her trial, Forget our nation’s weal, Endure no self denial, Be wanting in our zeal? O God, whilst evil lowers In clouds of sin and shame, May these cold hearts of ours Burst into living flame, To light and lead our nation In this her time of need, Until in Christ’s salvation She shall be free indeed.

• [Rom 15:8] We Limit Not The Truth Of God

  We limit not the truth of God To our poor reach of mind, By notions of our day and sect, Crude, partial, and confined. No, let a new and better hope Within our hearts be stirred: Refrain The Lord hath yet more light and truth To break forth from His Word. Darkling our great forefathers went The first steps of the way; ’Twas but the dawning yet to grow Into the perfect day. And grow it shall, our glorious sun More fervid rays afford: Refrain The valleys passed, ascending still, Our souls would higher climb, And look down from supernal heights On all the bygone time. Upward we press, the air is clear, And the sphere-music heard: Refrain O Father, Son, and Spirit, send Us increase from above; Enlarge, expand all Christian souls To comprehend Thy love, And make us to go on, to know With nobler powers conferred: Refrain

  I am rejoicing, trusting and hoping; Looking to Jesus, Savior divine; He is my refuge; softly He whispers, “I have redeemed thee, child, thou art Mine.” Refrain I am rejoicing, ever rejoicing, Trusting and hoping all the day long; Looking to Jesus, only to Jesus; He is my refuge, comfort and song.
