  At length there dawns the glorious day By prophets long foretold, At length the chorus clearer grows That shepherds heard of old. The day of dawning brotherhood Breaks on our eager eyes, And human hatreds flee before The radiant eastern skies. For what are sund’ring strains of blood, Or ancient caste and creed? One claim unites all men in God To serve each human need. Then here together, brother men, We pledge the Lord anew Our loyal love, our stalwart faith, Our service strong and true. One common faith unites us all, We seek one common goal; One tender comfort broods upon The struggling human soul. To this clear call of brotherhood Our hearts responsive ring We join the glorious new crusade Of our great Lord and King.

  A brighter dawn is breaking, And earth with praise is waking; For Thou, O King, most highest, The power of death defiest. And Thou hast come victorious, With risen body glorious, Who now forever livest, And life abundant givest. O free the world from blindness, And fill the world with kindness, Give sinners resurrection, Bring striving to perfection. In sickness give us healing, In doubt Thy clear revealing, That praise to Thee be given In earth as in Thy Heaven.

  The dawn is sprinkling in the east Its golden shower, as day flows in; Fast mount the pointed shafts of light: Farewell to darkness and to sin! Away, ye midnight phantoms all! Away, despondence and despair! Whatever guilt the night has brought Now let it vanish into air. So, Lord, when that last morning breaks, Looking to which we sigh and pray, O may it to Thy minstrels prove The dawning of a better day.   Eternal Glory of the sky, Blest Hope of frail humanity, The Father’s sole begotten One, Yet born a spotless virgin’s Son! Uplift us with Thine arm of might, And let our hearts rise pure and bright, And, ardent in God’s praises, pay The thanks we owe him every day. The day-star’s rays are glittering clear, And tell that day itself is near: The shadows of the night depart; Thou, holy Light, illume the heart! Within our senses ever dwell, And worldly darkness thence expel; Long as the days of life endure, Preserve our souls devout and pure. The faith that first must be possessed, Root deep within our inmost breast; And joyous hope in second place, Then charity, Thy greatest grace.   The gloomy night will soon be past, The morning will appear; The rays of blessèd light at last Each waiting eye will cheer. Thou bright and Morning Star, Thy light Will to our joy be seen; Thou, Lord, wilt meet our longing sight Without a cloud between. Ah, yes! Lord Jesus, Thou, whose heart Still for Thy saints doth care; We shall behold Thee as Thou art, Thy perfect likeness bear. Thy love sustains us on our way, While pilgrims here below; Thou dost, O Savior, day by day, The suited grace bestow. But O the more we learn of Thee, And Thy rich mercy prove, The more we long Thy face to see, And fully know Thy love.   Sovereign of worlds! Display Thy power; Be this Thy Zion’s favored hour; O bid the morning star arise, O point the heathen to the skies. Set up Thy throne where Satan reigns, In western wilds and eastern plains; Far let the Gospel’s sound be known; Make Thou the universe Thine own. • [2Pe 1:19] We Hail The Rising Day Star

  We hail the rising Day Star—the lamp within our heart Has banished all our darkness, and bid the night depart. We felt our blind eyes open, and ceased our doubt-filled war, When first we did receive Him, the bright and Morning Star. Now icy pride is melted, and shadows fled away; The sunrise is upon us, as stubborn hearts give way; The testimony certain, prophetic truth proclaim: Let light shine into darkness, erasing fear and shame. With borrowed light reflecting the Spirit in our heart, We spread the glorious tidings, to Earth’s remotest part; Unseeing eyes will open, and deaf ears hear the voice: “See in the east arising the best and perfect choice.” And when our task is over, our time on Earth is done, We lie down to await Him, the promised coming Sun; Earth’s final dawn arising, with light from shore to shore, The bright eternal shining, the sun to set no more.

• [2Pe 1:19] We Have A Sure Prophetic Word

  We have a sure prophetic Word, By inspiration of the Lord; And though assailed on every hand, Jehovah’s Word shall ever stand. By powers of empire banned and burned, By pagan pride rejected, spurned, The Word still stands, the Christian’s trust, While haughty empires lie in dust. Lo, what the Word in times of old Of future days and deeds foretold Is all fulfilled while ages roll, As traced on the prophetic scroll. Abiding, steadfast, firm, and sure The teachings of the Word endure. Blest he who trusts this steadfast Word; His anchor holds in Christ, the Lord.
