scapolite, n. [Gr. a staff, or L. scapus a stem, stalk + -lite: cf. F. scapolite.].
A grayish white mineral occuring in tetragonal crystals and in cleavable masses. It is essentially a silicate of alumina and soda. [1913 Webster]
