lepas, n. [L., a limpet, fr. Gr. lepa`s.].

Any one of various species of Lepas, a genus of pedunculated barnacles found attached to floating timber, bottoms of ships, Gulf weed, etc.; -- called also goose barnacle. See Barnacle. [1913 Webster]
