A division of trees comprising the ginkgos. In some systems it is classified as a class (Ginkgopsida) and in others as a subdivision (Ginkgophytina or Ginkgophyta); used in some classifications for one of five subdivisions of Gymnospermophyta. [WordNet 1.5]
