guacharo, n. [Cf. Sp. guácharo sickly, dropsical, guacharaca a sort of bird.].

 A nocturnal bird of South America and Trinidad (Steatornis Caripensis, or S. steatornis); -- called also oilbird.  [1913 Webster]
