hæmatoin, n. [Hæmato- + -in.].
A substance formed from the hematin of blood, by removal of the iron through the action of concentrated sulphuric acid. Two like bodies, called respectively hæmatoporphyrin and hæmatolin, are formed in a similar manner. [1913 Webster]
