Crisping Pins

Crisping Pins [NAVE]

CRISPING PINS,
Isa. 3:22.

CRISPING PINS [SMITH]

(Isaiah 3:22) The original word means some kind of female ornament, probably a reticule or richly ornamented purse, often made of silk inwrought with gold or silver.

CRISPING PINS [ISBE]

CRISPING PINS - kris'-ping: Pins for crisping, or curling, the hair. Thus the King James Version renders Hebrew chariTim (Isa 3:22; compare Vulgate). the Revised Version (British and American) substitutes more correctly "satchels" (so Qimchi (compare 2 Ki 5:23); compare Arabic). Others think of girdles; still others of veils or head-bands.
