HASHABNEIAH [ISBE]

HASHABNEIAH - hash-ab-ne-i'-a (chashabhneyah; the King James Version Hashabniah, hash-ab-ni'a).

(1) Father of one of the builders of the wall (Neh 3:10).

(2) A Levite mentioned in connection with the prayer preceding the signing of the covenant (Neh 9:5); possibly identical with the Hashabiah (chashabhyah) of Ezr 8:19,24; Neh 10:11; 11:22; 12:24, or one of these.
