Revelation 14
- [Rev 14:2] Gates Ajar
What music celestial, what melody clear
Is this which is greeting with rapture my ear?Refrain
The gates are ajar in the mansions on high
And angels are chanting their songs in the sky.Is Heaven so near me, the hope of my soul,
That over my spirit its music may roll?Refrain
Oh, bliss without measure, immortal and sweet!
I would that such cadence my voice could repeat!Refrain

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea.
A great high Priest whose Name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart.When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.Behold Him there the risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
The King of glory and of grace,
One in Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ my Savior and my God!Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Rev 14:4] Sweet Flow’rets Of The Martyr Band
Sweet flow’rets of the martyr band,
So early plucked by cruel hand;
Like rosebuds by a tempest torn,
As breaks the light of summer morn.First victims offered for the Lord,
Ye little knew your high reward,
As, at the very altar, gay
With palms and crowns ye seemed to play.Ah! what availed King Herod’s wrath?
He could not stay your Savior’s path;
The Child he sought alone went free;
That Child is King eternally.O Lord, the virgin born, to Thee
Praise, honor, might and glory be,
Whom with the Father we adore
And Holy Ghost forevermore.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Rev 14:6] Praise The Lord, Each Tribe And Nation
Praise the Lord, each tribe and nation,
Praise Him with a joyous heart;
Ye who know His full salvation,
Gather now from every part;
Let your voices glorify,
In His temple, God on high.He’s our God, and our Creator,
We, His flock and chosen seed:
He, our Lord and Liberator,
Us from sin and peril freed:
And at last His flock shall rest
In the mansions of the blest.Give Him thanks within His portals;
In the courts His deeds proclaim;
Hither come, ye ransomed mortals,
Glorify our Savior’s Name.
Ever kind and loving, He
Keeps His faith eternally.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Rev 14:13] For All The Saints
For all the saints, who from their labors rest,
Who Thee by faith before the world confessed,
Thy Name, O Jesus, be forever blessed.
Alleluia, Alleluia!Thou wast their Rock, their Fortress and their Might;
Thou, Lord, their Captain in the well fought fight;
Thou, in the darkness drear, their one true Light.
Alleluia, Alleluia!For the Apostles’ glorious company,
Who bearing forth the Cross o’er land and sea,
Shook all the mighty world, we sing to Thee:
Alleluia, Alleluia!For the Evangelists, by whose blest word,
Like fourfold streams, the garden of the Lord,
Is fair and fruitful, be Thy Name adored.
Alleluia, Alleluia!For Martyrs, who with rapture kindled eye,
Saw the bright crown descending from the sky,
And seeing, grasped it, Thee we glorify.
Alleluia, Alleluia!O blest communion, fellowship divine!
We feebly struggle, they in glory shine;
All are one in Thee, for all are Thine.
Alleluia, Alleluia!O may Thy soldiers, faithful, true and bold,
Fight as the saints who nobly fought of old,
And win with them the victor’s crown of gold.
Alleluia, Alleluia!And when the strife is fierce, the warfare long,
Steals on the ear the distant triumph song,
And hearts are brave, again, and arms are strong.
Alleluia, Alleluia!The golden evening brightens in the west;
Soon, soon to faithful warriors comes their rest;
Sweet is the calm of paradise the blessed.
Alleluia, Alleluia!But lo! there breaks a yet more glorious day;
The saints triumphant rise in bright array;
The King of glory passes on His way.
Alleluia, Alleluia!From earth’s wide bounds, from ocean’s farthest coast,
Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,
And singing to Father, Son and Holy Ghost:
Alleluia, Alleluia!Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Rev 14:13] Hear What The Voice From Heav’n Proclaims
Hear what the voice from Heav’n proclaims,
For all the pious dead;
Sweet is the savor of their names,
And soft their sleeping bed.They died in Jesus, and are blest;
How kind their slumbers are!
From sufferings and from sins released,
And freed from every snare.Far from this world of toil and strife,
They’re present with the Lord;
The labors of their mortal life
End in a large reward.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Rev 14:13] How Blest The Righteous When He Dies!
How blest the righteous when he dies!
When sinks a weary soul to rest,
How mildly beam the closing eyes,
How gently heaves th’expiring breast!So fades a summer cloud away;
So sinks a gale when storms are o’er;
So gently shuts the eye of day;
So dies a wave along the shore.A holy quiet reigns around,
A calm which life nor death destroys;
And naught disturbs that peace profound
Which his unfettered soul enjoys.Farewell, conflicting hopes and fears,
Where lights and shades alternate dwell;
How bright th’unchanging morn appears!
Farewell, inconstant world, farewell!Life’s labor done, as sinks the clay,
Light from its load the spirit flies,
While Heav’n and earth combine to say,
“How blest the righteous when he dies!”source: Cyberhymnal - [Rev 14:13] Hush! Blessed Are The Dead
Hush! blessèd are the dead
In Jesus’ arms who rest,
And lean their weary head
Forever on His breast.O beatific sight!
No darkling veil between,
They see the Light of Light,
Whom here they loved unseen.Them the Good Shepherd leads,
Where storms are never rife,
In tranquil dewy meads
Beside the Fount of Life.O tender hearts and true,
Our long last vigil kept,
We weep and mourn for you;
Nor blame us: Jesus wept.But soon at break of day
His calm almighty voice,
Stronger than death, shall say,
Awake! Arise! Rejoice!source: Cyberhymnal - [Rev 14:13] Oh, How Blest Are Ye Whose Toils Are Ended
Oh, how blest are ye whose toils are ended!
Who, through death, have unto God ascended!
Ye have arisen
From the cares which keep us still in prison.We are still as in a dungeon living,
Still oppressed with sorrow and misgiving;
Our undertakings
Are but toils, and troubles, and heart-breakings.Ye meanwhile, are in your chambers sleeping,
Quiet, and set free from all our weeping;
No cross nor trial
Hinders your enjoyments with denial.Christ has wiped away your tears for ever;
Ye have that for which we still endeavor.
To you are chanted
Songs which yet no mortal ear have haunted.Ah! who would not, then, depart with gladness,
To inherit Heaven for earthly sadness?
Who here would languish
Longer in bewailing and in anguish?Come, O Christ, and loose the chains that bind us!
Lead us forth, and cast this world behind us!
With Thee, the Anointed,
Finds the soul its joy and rest appointed.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Rev 14:13] We’ll Follow On
O happy ones, that sweetly sing,
In yonder world so fair;
Your footprints on the sands of time,
Were left to guide us there.Refrain
We’ll follow on, still looking up,
Beyond the ether blue,
Where, by and by, thro’ grace divine,
We’ll meet and sing with you.We’ll sing of Him, our blessèd Lord,
Who laid His glory down;
Who bore our sins upon the cross,
That we might wear a crown.Refrain
We follow on with trusting hearts,
For o’er life’s troubled way,
The same protecting hand is ours,
That led you, day by day.Refrain
