Psalms 25
- [Psa 25:1] I Lift My Soul To God
I lift my soul to God,
My trust is in His Name:
Let not my foes that seek my blood
Still triumph in my shame.Sin, and the powers of hell,
Persuade me to despair:
Lord, make me know Thy covenant well,
That I may ’scape the snare.From the first dawning light
Till the dark evening rise,
For Thy salvation, Lord, I wait
With ever longing eyes.Remember all Thy grace,
And lead me in Thy truth;
Forgive the sins of riper days,
And follies of my youth.The Lord is just and kind,
The meek shall learn His ways,
And every humble sinner find
The methods of His grace.For His own goodness’ sake
He saves my soul from shame:
He pardons, though my guilt be great,
Through my Redeemer’s Name.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 25:1] Lord, I Lift My Soul To Thee
Lord, I lift my soul to Thee,
O my God, I trust Thy might;
Let not foes exult o’er me,
Shame me not before their sight.
Yea, may none be put to shame,
None who wait for Thee to bless,
But dishonored be their name
Who without a cause transgress.Lord, to me Thy ways make known,
Guide in truth and teach Thou me;
Thou my Savior art alone,
All the day I wait for Thee.
Lord, remember in Thy love
All Thy mercies manifold,
Tender mercies from above,
Changeless from the days of old.Sins of youth remember not,
Nor my trespasses record;
Let not mercy be forgot,
For Thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.
Just and good the Lord abides,
He His way will sinners show,
He the meek in justice guides,
Making them His way to know.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 25:2] Trusting Jesus (2)
Dear Lord, take up our tangled strands,
Where we have wrought in vain,
That by the skill of Thy dear hands
Some beauty may remain.Refrain
Transformed by grace divine,
The glory shall be Thine;
To Thy most holy will, O Lord,
We now our all resign.Touch Thou the sad, discordant keys
Of every troubled breast,
And change to peaceful harmonies
The sighings of unrest.Refrain
Where broken vows in fragments lie—
The toil of wasted years—
Do Thou make whole again, we cry,
And give a song for tears.Refrain
Take all the failures, each mistake
Of our poor human ways,
Then, Savior, for Thine own dear sake,
Make them show forth Thy praise.Refrain

Grace and truth shall mark the way
Where the Lord His own will lead,
If His Word they still obey
And His testimonies heed.For Thy Name’s sake hear Thou me,
For Thy mercy, Lord, I wait;
Pardon my iniquity,
For my sin is very great.He who walks in godly fear
In the path of truth shall go;
Peace shall be his portion here,
And his sons all good shall know.They that fear and love the Lord
Shall His holy friendship know;
He will grace to them accord,
And His faithful covenant show.Ever are my longing eyes
On the Lord, whose watchful care,
When my foes their plots devise,
Keeps my feet from every snare.Turn to me, Thy grace impart,
I am desolate indeed;
Great the troubles of my heart;
Save Thou me, O Lord, I plead.Look on mine afflicted state,
Freely all my sins forgive;
Mark my foes, their cruel hate;
Keep my soul and let me live.Shame me not; I hide in Thee;
Truth and right preserve me still;
Mark Thy people, Lord my God,
Save Thou from every ill.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 25:4] Keep Me Thine
Teach my little hands and feet,
Useful, Lord, to be,
Tell me something I can do—
Every day for Thee.Refrain
Keep me Thine, keep me Thine,
Blessèd Savior, keep me Thine.
Keep me Thine, keep me Thine,
Blessèd Savior, keep me Thine.Teach my tongue a word to speak,
Gentle, soft and low,
Make me like a beam of light
Everywhere I go.Refrain
Teach me how to love Thy Word,
Love it more and more;
Help me Lord, to work for Thee,
Till my life is o’er.Refrain

Away, away to Sunday school,
Our hearts together beating;
We haste to win from those we love
A smile of happy greeting.Refrain
Our Sunday school, dear Sunday school,
With purest pleasure glowing,
Where tranquil peace and holy joy
Are like a river flowing.Away, away to Sunday school,
And learn the songs of gladness,
That tell of Him Whose tender love
Will banish care and sadness.Refrain
God bless our school, our teachers all,
And bind our souls together
In sacred bonds of kindred love
No earthly power can sever.Refrain

Look upon us, blessèd Lord,
Take our wandering thoughts and guide us;
We have come to hear Thy Word,
With Thy teaching now provide us,
That, from earth’s distractions turning,
We Thy message may be learning.For Thy Spirit’s radiance bright
We, assembled here, are hoping;
If Thou shouldst withhold the light,
In the dark our souls were groping:
In each word and thought direct us:
Thou, Thou only, canst correct us.Brightness of the Father’s face,
Light of Light, from God proceeding,
Make us ready in this place;
Ear and heart await Thy leading.
Fill with life and inspiration
Every prayer and meditation.source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 25:5] O Teach Me What It Meaneth
O teach me what it meaneth,
That cross uplifted high,
With One, the Man of Sorrows,
Condemned to bleed and die!
O teach me what it cost Thee
To make a sinner whole;
And teach me, Savior, teach me
The value of a soul!O teach me what it meaneth,
That sacred crimson tide,
The blood and water flowing
From Thine own wounded side.
Teach me that if none other
Had sinned, but I alone,
Yet still Thy blood, Lord Jesus,
Thine only, must atone.O teach me what it meaneth,
Thy love beyond compare,
The love that reacheth deeper
Than depths of self-despair!
Yes, teach me, till there gloweth
In this cold heart of mine
Some feeble, pale reflection
Of that pure love of Thine.O teach me what it meaneth,
For I am full of sin,
And grace alone can reach me,
And love alone can win.
O teach me, for I need Thee,
I have no hope beside—
The chief of all the sinners
For whom the Savior died!O teach me what it meaneth
The rest which Thou dost give
To all the heavy-laden
Who look to Thee and live.
Because I am a rebel
Thy pardon I receive
Because Thou dost command me,
I can, I do believe.O infinite Redeemer!
I bring no other plea;
Because Thou dost invite me
I cast myself on Thee.
Because Thou dost accept me
I love and I adore;
Because Thy love constraineth,
I’ll praise Thee evermore!Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 25:5] O Thou God Of My Salvation
O Thou God of my salvation, my Redeemer from all sin;
Moved by Thy divine compassion, who hast died my heart to win;
I will praise Thee, I will praise Thee, where shall I Thy praise begin?
I will praise Thee, I will praise Thee, where shall I Thy praise begin?Though unseen, I love the Savior, He hath brought salvation near;
Manifests His pardoning favor, and when Jesus doth appear,
Soul and body, soul and body, shall His glorious image bear;
Soul and body, soul and body, shall His glorious image bear.While the angel choirs are crying, “Glory to the great I Am,”
I with them will still be vying—glory, glory, to the Lamb!
Oh, how precious, oh, how precious is the sound of Jesus’ Name!
Oh, how precious, oh, how precious is the sound of Jesus’ Name!Angels now are hovering round us, unperceived among the throng;
Wondering at the love that crowned us, glad to sing the holy song;
Hallelujah, hallelujah, love and praise to Christ belong!
Hallelujah, hallelujah, love and praise to Christ belong!Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 25:7] Thou Wilt Remember Me
I want no other hand, O Lord,
But Thine my guide to be,
For well I know through all my life
Thou wilt remember me.Refrain
Thou wilt remember me, O Lord,
Thou wilt remember me!
Thy Word has said, and I believe,
Thou wilt remember me.No tongue can tell the joy I feel
Since I am one with Thee;
And this my song the whole day long:
Thou wilt remember me.Refrain
Thy Spirit’s seal is on my heart,
Thy image there I see;
And every hour the witness have
Thou wilt remember me.Refrain
No power shall break my firm resolve
To live and die in Thee;
For grace through faith has taught my soul
Thou wilt remember me.Refrain
Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 25:11] My Sins, My Sins, My Savior
My sins, my sins, my Savior!
They take such hold on me,
I am not able to look up,
Save only, Christ, on Thee;
In Thee is all forgiveness,
In Thee abundant grace,
My shadow and my sunshine
The brightness of Thy face.My sins, my sins, my Savior!
How sad on Thee they fall;
Seen through Thy gentle patience,
I tenfold feel them all;
I know they are forgiven,
But still, their pain to me
Is all the grief and anguish
They laid, my Lord, on Thee.My sins, my sins, my Savior!
Their guilt I never knew
Till with Thee in the desert
I near Thy passion drew;
Till with Thee in the garden
I heard Thy pleading prayer,
And saw the sweat-drops bloody
That told Thy sorrow there.Therefore my songs, my Savior,
E’en in this time of woe,
Shall tell of all Thy goodness
To suff’ring man below;
Thy goodness and Thy favor,
Whose presence from above
Rejoice those hearts, my Savior,
That live in Thee and love.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 25:12] Where Shall The Man Be Found?
Where shall the man be found
That fears t’offend his God?
That loves the Gospel’s joyful sound,
And trembles at the rod?The Lord shall make him know
The secrets of His heart,
The wonders of His covenant show,
And all His love impart.The dealings of His hand
Are truth and mercy still
With such as to His cov’nant stand,
And love to do His will.Their souls shall dwell at ease
Before their Maker’s face;
Their seed shall taste the promises
In their extensive grace.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 25:15] Mine Eyes And My Desire
Mine eyes and my desire
Are ever to the Lord;
I love to plead His promises,
And rest upon His Word.Turn, turn Thee to my soul,
Bring Thy salvation near;
When will Thy hand release my feet
Out of the deadly snare?When shall the sovereign grace
Of my forgiving God
Restore me from those dangerous ways
My wandering feet have trod?The tumult of my thoughts
Doth but enlarge my woe;
My spirit languishes, my heart
Is desolate and low.With every morning light
My sorrow new begins;
Look on my anguish and my pain,
And pardon all my sins.Behold the hosts of hell,
How cruel is their hate!
Against my life they rise, and join
Their fury with deceit.O keep my soul from death,
Nor put my hope to shame,
For I have placed my only trust
In my Redeemer’s Name.With humble faith I wait
To see Thy face again:
Of Israel it shall ne’er be said,
He sought the Lord in vain.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 25:18] Before Thy Throne, O God, We Kneel
Before Thy throne, O God, we kneel;
Give us a conscience quick to feel,
A ready mind to understand
The meaning of Thy chastening hand;
Whate’er the pain and shame may be,
Bring us, O Father, nearer Thee.Search out our hearts and make us true,
Wishful to give to all their due;
From love of pleasure, lust of gold,
From sins which make the heart grow cold,
Wean us and train us with Thy rod;
Teach us to know our faults, O God.For sins of heedless word and deed,
For pride ambitious to succeed;
For crafty trade and subtle snare
To catch the simple unaware;
For lives bereft of purpose high,
Forgive, forgive, O Lord, we cry.Let the fierce fires, which burn and try,
Our inmost spirits purify:
Consume the ill; purge out the shame;
O God! be with us in the flame;
A newborn people may we rise,
More pure, more true, more nobly wise.Play source: Cyberhymnal
